So if your left foot is in front of your body, your right arm should be as well. Your heel should make the first contact with the ground when you step; the rest of your foot should follow in a smooth roll.

When working on your abdominal muscles you should never put your entire focus on doing crunches. There is evidence showing that performing 250,000 crunches only burns a single pound of fat. Relying only on crunches means that you are not working as hard as you should be. Work at developing your abdominal muscles in other types of exercise as well.

The best way to avoid injury when walking for exercise is to you proper form. Always maintain an upright position with your shoulders held back. Your elbows should fall at 90-degree angles. Your forward foot should be opposite your forward arm. You heel should hit ground before the rest of your foot rolls forward.

Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in during workouts. You may feel pressured to wear a fashionable fitness outfit, especially when working out in public. Don’t let anyone pressure you into wearing something that is not comfortable for you. Don clothes which allow you freedom of movement, but don’t make you feel self-conscious. Make sure you plan out every day out of the week so that you have time set aside towards exercising. If you do not have a schedule of fitness and meals, you could find yourself caught out in public on a lunch break and end up eating some unhealthy fast food because you are in a rush. Take an hour for lunch and bring a healthy meal with you. You should also plan on working out for half an hour or an hour when you get home.

Before beginning your bench workout, firmly press the cushion down with your fingers in order to test the padding thickness. If you are able to feel the wood through the padding, the machine is either cheaply made or worn out. Choose a more comfortable one. Machines with inadequate padding are less supportive than their fully padded counterparts, and they may cause bruises or soreness.

Exercise muscles lightly if you worked them out before. A simple way to do this is to slightly work out the tired muscles using a much smaller percentage of effort.

Remember that too much exercise can do more harm than good. Do this by checking your pulse the day after a heavy workout.
